Questions
Anything not answered here: hello@habitcultivator.com. One developer reads that inbox, so replies are slower than a support desk and more useful than one.
Do I need an account?
No. Tap Step Onto the Path and you are cultivating in seconds. Your record is saved on our servers in the EU from the first tap, and binding it to an email keeps everything — realms, streaks, stones, Chronicle — exactly as it was.
The cost of staying unbound is stated in the app, not buried here: until you bind, your way back to the record runs through the phone you started on. Lose it or uninstall the app and you can lose access to the record; sign out and the record is deleted from our servers. Sects, Duel Pacts and purchases stay closed until you bind, because each of those would leave someone else holding your absence.
Are there ads?
That second sentence is the part most apps leave out, so here it is in full. The Elder makes that offer at a few moments — after a breakthrough, after your first Perfect Day, and when you tap a locked skin. Never more than once a day, never after a day you lost or a heart demon, one tap to dismiss, and it never blocks a check-in.
Everything else stays true: nothing is ever sold to an advertiser, no ad network is embedded in the build, no third party learns that you exist, and no banner will ever appear between you and your disciplines.
What is free, and what is Patron?
The whole cultivation loop is free forever: disciplines, oaths, seals, Qi, all eight realms, seclusion, sects, Duel Pacts, Dual Cultivation, the daily trial, the Chronicle, achievements — and two of the five worlds, Celestial Obsidian and The System.
Patron adds the other three skins, the Elder’s daily reading and weekly letter, and the Memoir of your Perfect Days — and it is the one thing the app will ever ask you to buy. The line we hold: mechanics and the first week are never paywalled; observation and memory are. How to escape a heart demon is mechanics, and it stays free. Patron never grants Qi, spirit stones, streak power, or one place on a sect board.
What does Patron cost?
The store shows the real price in your own currency, and that price is the one that applies. The First Hundred is a real limit, not a countdown trick: the app shows how many seals remain and stops offering the founding price just before the last ones are taken, so that a purchase already in progress still receives a seal.
Is this a health app?
No. It is a habit tracker with the soul of a cultivation novel. Nothing in it is medical, psychological or fitness advice, and heart demons, oaths and penalties are fiction rather than judgement. It reads no health data and connects to no health platform.
Do I have to know xianxia?
No. Every term is defined in plain words in the Dao Lexicon in your profile, and the Elder explains each screen the first time you open it. If the genre still isn’t for you, switch to The System — a free second fiction where a discipline is a quest, Qi is EXP, and nothing addresses you as a cultivator.
What happens if I miss a day?
You lose Qi, but only for the vows you actually broke — each discipline that was scheduled for the missed day and left unsealed, charged at the weight you swore it: 6 Qi for a Mortal oath, 12 for Earth, 20 for Heaven. It is never a percentage of your total, and the reckoning never looks further back than fourteen days. A day you never scheduled costs nothing.
Miss three days and a Heart Demon takes root, halving what you gather until three clean days purge it. Your first demon ever costs half and comes with the cure already in your ring. No penalty ever touches money.
Does it work offline?
Mostly. Sealing a discipline offline is queued and sent when the connection returns, and your profile, realms, disciplines, Chronicle and Pavilion are read from the last good snapshot. Anything that belongs to other people — the sect board, the Spirit Array, a pact — is never cached, because a stale answer about someone else is worse than no answer. The app says which it is showing you rather than guessing.
Where is my data kept?
In the European Union — Paris, France. The app opens without an account, so you can start without giving us anything; even then your record is saved on our servers from the first tap, and until you bind it to an email, losing the phone you started on can lose your way back to it. Binding it to an email — which you can do at any time — is what lets you reach it from any phone, and that email is the only personal detail we ask for. No location, contacts, photos, health data or advertising identifier. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Settings → Delete account, the red row at the foot of Settings. It asks twice, and erases every discipline, sealed day, realm, spirit stone, sect standing and your Chronicle. Nothing is kept and there is no return. You can also write to us from the account’s email address. Full instructions.
Which languages?
English only for now, and there is no language switcher in the app yet. The groundwork is done — every string already lives in one translation file, and element detection on discipline names works in any language — so adding a language is a translation job rather than a rebuild. When the first one lands, the picker arrives with it.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter the email of your account. If an account uses it, a code arrives by email; type the code and a new password in the app and you are back in — nothing in your record changes. The code works once and expires, so if it did not work, request a new one. Still locked out? Write to hello@habitcultivator.com from the account’s email address.
How do I report or hide someone?
In a sect, a pact or a Dao Bond, tap Report next to a notice or a name, or tap ⋯ on a member’s row for Report and Hide. A report sends us a copy of the text as it was at that moment; we review reports within 48 hours. Hide removes that person’s name and notices from your screen, prevents a new pact or bond between you, and ends an active bond; a sect founder can also remove a member. Before you first share anything, the app asks you to accept the Terms.
Something is broken
Please write — hello@habitcultivator.com. Include your device, the app version from Profile → Settings, and what you were doing. Bug reports from early cultivators are the reason the app works at all.
